וכנשו פלשתאי ית כל משריתהון לאפק וישראל שרן בעינא די ביזרעאל:
byzreal dy beyna shrn wyshral lapq mshrythhwn kl yth plshthay wknshw
Now the Philistines gathered together all their armies to Aphek; and the Israelites encamped by the spring which is in Jezreel.

וטורני פלשתאי עברין למאון ולאלפין ודוד וגברוהי עברין בבתריתא עם אכיש:
akysh em bbthrytha ebryn wgbrwhy wdwd wlalpyn lmawn ebryn plshthay wTwrny
The lords of the Philistines passed on by hundreds and by thousands; and David and his men passed on in the rear with Achish.

ואמרו רברבי פלשתאי מה יהודאי האלין ואמר אכיש לרברבי פלשתאי הלא דין דוד עבדא דשאול מלכא דישראל דהוה עמי דנן יומין או דנן שנין ולא אשכחית ביה מדעם ביש מיומא דאתפרש לותי עד יומא הדין:
hdyn ywma ed lwthy dathprsh mywma bysh mdem byh ashkkhyth wla shnyn dnn aw ywmyn dnn emy dhwh dyshral mlka dshawl ebda dwd dyn hla plshthay lrbrby akysh wamr halyn yhwday mh plshthay rbrby wamrw
Then the princes of the Philistines said, “What about these Hebrews?” Achish said to the princes of the Philistines, “Isn’t this David, the servant of Saul the king of Israel, who has been with me these days, or rather these years? I have found no fault in him since he fell away until today.”

ורגיזו עלוהי רברבי פלשתאי ואמרו ליה רברבי פלשתאי אתיב ית גברא ויתוב לאתריה דמניתיה תמן ולא יחות עמנא בקרבא ולא יהי לשטן בקרבא ובמה יתרעי דין לות רבוניה הלא ברישי גבריא האינון:
haynwn gbrya bryshy hla rbwnyh lwth dyn ythrey wbmh bqrba lshTn yhy wla bqrba emna ykhwth wla thmn dmnythyh lathryh wythwb gbra yth athyb plshthay rbrby lyh wamrw plshthay rbrby elwhy wrgyzw
But the princes of the Philistines were angry with him; and the princes of the Philistines said to him, “Make the man return, that he may go back to his place where you have appointed him, and let him not go down with us to battle, lest in the battle he become an adversary to us. For with what should this fellow reconcile himself to his lord? Should it not be with the heads of these men?

הלא דין דוד דמשמעין ליה בחנגיא למימר קטל שאול באלפין ודוד ברבון:
brbwn wdwd balpyn shawl qTl lmymr bkhngya lyh dmshmeyn dwd dyn hla
Isn’t this David, of whom people sang to one another in dances, saying, ‘Saul has slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands’?”

וקרא אכיש לדוד ואמר ליה קים הוא יי ארי כשר את וטב בעיני מפקך ומעלך עמי במשריתא ארי לא אשכחית בך מדעם ביש מיומא דאתיתא לותי עד יומא הדין ובעיני טורניא לא תקין את:
ath thqyn la Twrnya wbeyny hdyn ywma ed lwthy dathytha mywma bysh mdem bk ashkkhyth la ary bmshrytha emy wmelk mpqk beyny wTb ath kshr ary yy hwa qym lyh wamr ldwd akysh wqra
Then Achish called David and said to him, “As Yahweh lives, you have been upright, and your going out and your coming in with me in the army is good in my sight; for I have not found evil in you since the day of your coming to me to this day. Nevertheless, the lords don’t favor you.

וכען תוב ואזיל בשלם ולא תעביד ביש בעיני טורני פלשתאי:
plshthay Twrny beyny bysh thebyd wla bshlm wazyl thwb wken
Therefore now return, and go in peace, that you not displease the lords of the Philistines.”

ואמר דוד לאכיש ארי מה עבדית ומה אשכחתא בעבדך מיומא דהויתי משמש קדמך עד יומא הדין ארי לא אהך ואגיח קרבא בשנאי רבוני מלכא:
mlka rbwny bshnay qrba wagykh ahk la ary hdyn ywma ed qdmk mshmsh dhwythy mywma bebdk ashkkhtha wmh ebdyth mh ary lakysh dwd wamr
David said to Achish, “But what have I done? What have you found in your servant so long as I have been before you to this day, that I may not go and fight against the enemies of my lord the king?”

ואתיב אכיש ואמר לדוד ידענא ארי תקין את בעיני כמלאכא דיי ברם רברבי פלשתאי אמרו לא יסק עמנא בקרבא:
bqrba emna ysq la amrw plshthay rbrby brm dyy kmlaka beyny ath thqyn ary ydena ldwd wamr akysh wathyb
Achish answered David, “I know that you are good in my sight, as an angel of God. Notwithstanding, the princes of the Philistines have said, ‘He shall not go up with us to the battle.’

וכען אקדים בצפרא ועבדי רבונך דאתו עמך ותקדמון בצפרא וינהר לכון ותיזלון:
wthyzlwn lkwn wynhr btspra wthqdmwn emk dathw rbwnk webdy btspra aqdym wken
Therefore now rise up early in the morning with the servants of your lord who have come with you; and as soon as you are up early in the morning and have light, depart.”

ואקדים דוד הוא וגברוהי למיזל בצפרא למתב לארע פלשתאי ופלשתאי סליקו ליזרעאל:
lyzreal slyqw wplshthay plshthay lare lmthb btspra lmyzl wgbrwhy hwa dwd waqdym
So David rose up early, he and his men, to depart in the morning, to return into the land of the Philistines; and the Philistines went up to Jezreel.
